My Year of Video Monthly Diaries
January 20, 2013I’m proud to say that I’ve finally finished my year long project of monthly video diary videos. Here’s the video for December 2012. I know it’s well into January 2013 but it’s been a busy month.
I’ve assembled the full year of videos into the playlist below and it’s been fun to look back and see jobs ending and beginning, people, places, travels, music, good times, good food, and lots of CTA riding and car driving. This is what happened. Enjoy.
November video diary
December 9, 2012
My November video diary is finally done. Editing the video, I realized I have a lot more DSLR video than from my phone. There’s also a lot more time lapse, but I really like how the clouds and the Thanksgiving preparation came out. Mom didn’t want to be on camera, so we had to deal with just her hands. Next month marks the end of this year long project and I’m okay with it. It’ll be nice to watch all twelve months and look back at what happened, who was there, and what I did.
October 2012 Video Diary
November 10, 2012
There’s timelapse photography in my video diary this month. I’m excited about that. I even shot 60D footage today for November’s diary. The music on the October video is Bauhaus with “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”, that I’ve had in my head for weeks and listened to quite a bit of them recently. I’m interested to see the end of this year long video diary project but I wonder what I’ll do next. Should I continue?
Happy Birthday – September 2012 Video Diary
October 17, 2012
Last month’s video diary is finally here. Over the summer I decided to run away for my birthday and spend it in LA with some very special people, and that I did. It was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I came back to Chicago to dive into jobs that took up my evenings and I’ve finally come around to editing the video. Shot with my phone and 60D in two of the most beautiful cities in the world, that was my September.
August Video Diary
September 2, 2012
As I’ve been doing since December, here is my monthly video diary for August 2012. This month features lovely suburban geese shot with my DSLR, filming the show Shameless in River North, more CTA trains, and a dog named Ike. Check out last month’s video here.
Bulletproof Cupid – July 2012 video diary
August 15, 2012
Every month since December, I’ve been editing the video I’ve shot on my phone and other cameras into a monthly video. This is July’s video set to the tune of “Bulletproof Cupid” by Placebo. Enjoy!
June 2012 video diary
July 10, 2012
I’m slow on posting the video diaries these days but I guess it’s good that I’ve been busy. I haven’t missed a month yet, and I don’t plan on it. Here’s the video from June, when I apparently rode the CTA train a whole lot. I’m really curious to see how it’s going to look when I put together a whole year’s worth of videos. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue this project next year but for now, I like where this is going.
A Town Called Malice – May 2012 Video Diary
June 21, 2012
I’m well aware that it’s coming to the end of the month and I’m finally posting my video diary for May. I’ve had a busy month, but I really like this video. It features great friends, good times, one of my all time favorite songs called “A Town Called Malice” by The Jam, and out-takes from my video shoot with Miss Earth Kosovo Nora Asani. I have a 2nd video with her in the works, which will premiere on this site very soon. Until then, stay tuned soon for the June video diary!
Goldfish – Video Diary – April 2012
May 10, 2012
I feel like I’m really late in posting my April video diary since it’s the 10th but here we are. I quite like how this one came together and I think it works well with the song. I’ve already got some good stuff on my phone for May. Stay tuned.
Wonderwall
April 11, 2012
I’m glad that I’m still working on these monthly video diaries. Unlike the others, this one was shot with my Canon 60D as well as my G2X phone. Since I’m not married to the phone as my main camera, I’ll shoot with whatever I have in my hands at the time. I like the variety. It’s also nice to look back and remember what I did, who was there, and make it into something new each month.
