Looks like Suede has a new song that was performed at a show in Saint Petersburg Russia called “I Don’t Know Why”. It’s definitely not the first album era Suede but that can never be repeated, this comes after “Coming Up” and it’s okay by me. I can’t wait to hear more new music from them.

November DJ events

I’m excited to end the month with two killer gigs back to back at two of my favorite clubs. Bondage shows, Mark Gertz, and an early all Suede set: these are a few of my favorite things.
Suede at Coachella
Since waking up yesterday morning I’ve been searching for reviews and Youtube videos of Suede‘s return to the US at Coachella. Spin named Brett Anderson “Best Frontman”. Check out the story here. These are 2 of my favorite videos so far, a killer version of “Trash” and a pre-show interview by Boston Phoenix. I have my fingers crossed for a US tour. You should cross yours as well.

suede – the best of

Suede’s “the best of” is fantastic. So nice to hear the remastered songs, especially the first album. I’m really happy that they included so many of the b-sides like “My Insatiable One” and “Together”. Cover artwork by Elizabeth Peyton is very Suede as well. The quote on the cover from NME is pretty dead on as well: ‘suede were and are everything a band should be… the best british punk, rock n’ roll, sex-pop-glam band of the past 20 years’. Agreed.

the best of suede
Suede’s been one of my favorite bands since I first heard them in 1992. They’ve been just about as big an influence on me as Morrissey and The Smiths. Certain songs remind me of certain times, people, places, and that’s what makes a great band even greater. After all this time, they’ve decided to release a The Best of Suede album and it comes out November 1st. Not sure when/if it comes out in the US but I hope they do a US tour since they’re playing out so much together lately. Check their site for more info and a track listing here.

Love is Dead
My YouTube subscription page was blowing up today with everybody’s new updates. Here’s one of them from suedemusicweb of a beautiful, but horribly sad song called Love is Dead by Brett Anderson, formerly (hopefully back with) Suede.
the asphalt world
Nothing like a little Suede to get you through the day. Hearing this took me back. Old memories and now some new ones. Still asking the same question – and how does she feel when she’s next to you?
