Here’s a list (in alphabetical order) of my favorite music of 2011:
Chapel Club – Palace – I discovered this band from London through Suede’s twitter. Turns out Chapel Club was opening for Suede so I looked up who this band was and I loved what I heard on Youtube, and then the CD was played non-stop at work, in the car, iPod, and at home. There’s hints of The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, and the recent bands they’ve inspired but still Chapel Club does their own thing that I really appreciate.
I shot this video on my phone between June and now. I figured it was time to edit something together from what I had and this happened. The Radiohead song just sort of fit the length and things matched up quite nice. I think I’ll be doing more and more of this as time goes on.
Today is a good day. Radiohead released The King of Limbs today instead of tomorrow as was announced on Monday. I’ve ordered the physical release that includes 2 vinyl, CD, 625 pieces of artwork, and other stuff. It ships in May but till then we’re treated to the download to hold us over. The video below was also put up on their site. Radiohead can do no wrong. Nope. Not even if they tried.
RCRDLBL is an amazing site that has embeddable music with links to free downloads. There’s always new music to discover and stuff you won’t hear elsewhere.
Here’s a little mixtape of Panic Films approved tunes for your Saturday listening. Enjoy, download these tunes, and look up more music by these artists because they’re awesome. Continue reading ‘RCRDLBL MIXTAPE’
I haven’t posted much lately the past couple of weeks because I’ve been really sick. However, I’ve come across these awesome VH-1 performances by Radiohead called “From the Basement” on youtube.
