The Dark Knight Rises trailer #3

Okay this is pretty exciting. I’d write more about it but I think I’m just going to watch it over and over in 1080p full screen. Bye.

Total Recall trailer

I never thought I’d say this about a Total Recall remake (I also never thought there’d be a Total Recall remake) but this trailer doesn’t look bad. Visually it looks really great. I love me some flying cars, the white robotic looking soldiers look badass and kind of like Stormtroopers, and the always beautiful Kate Beckinsale is a plus. Of course it will never match the greatness of 1990′s Total Recall but then again, nothing can.

The Lion King Rises

I love this. It’s the audio from the trailer of The Dark Knight Rises with visuals synced from The Lion King. Nice way to start the work day and the new year on a slow and snowy, cold day at work.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

There’s a lot going on in this trailer. First, it seems that Bane really doesn’t like football. Also, we see Selina Kyle but no Catwoman. The flying Batwing or whatever that is chasing a camouflage Batmobile looks badass. There’s also not much of Batman in this. Good stuff. I can’t wait till the movie gets released on July 20th.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer

A couple of hours ago the trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation was released to the internets and I like it. I was actually a fan of the first movie. Did it ruin my childhood? No. It was a stupid action movie with a fun car chase through the middle of Paris. Sienna Miller was hot as the Baroness and the ninjas had a great fight scene. My beloved childhood memories of playing with G.I. Joe toys in the living room on Christmas morning, watching the cartoon after work, and drawing pictures of epic actions scenes with Storm Shadow and everybody are still intact. Sure, it wasn’t amazing filmmaking but it wasn’t supposed to be. It was certainly better than Transformers 2, but that’s a whole other thing I’m not going to get into right now.
Back to G.I. Joe: Retaliation, It seems that the original cast of beloved Joe characters get killed (I kind of love this idea), Cobra takes over the White House (awesome) and there’s a badass mountainside battle with Snake Eyes on a rope (fuck yeah!). Oh and Bruce Willis has high cholesterol. There’s potential for a decent movie here, and there’s no mention of it being in 3D. That’s already a plus. If anybody needs me on June 29th, I’ll be at the movie theater. Who’s coming with me?

New Transformers 3 Trailer!

Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon by teasertrailer

I’m not disappointed by the new Transformers trailer at all. In fact, I fucking love it. This is hot and sexy stuff right here people. Here’s what we see: Chicago is covered in smoke, Navy Pier is on fire, Marina Towers are fucked up, the building I work in seems to have disappeared from the lake shore (if anybody sees the 680 building, please point it out), some giant Matrix squiddy looking robot is fucking breaking a skyscraper in half with Rosie Huntington-Whitely inside it (save her Shia! She’s a Victoria’s Secret Angel for fuck’s sake!), several buildings on Wacker Drive are blowing up, the shit’s going down on Michigan Ave at the river, Optimus Prime is angry at the humans, and there’s a giant really evil looking ship flying through the Loop. Am I excited? Hell fucking yeah I am! July 1st cannot come soon enough. We also see Bumblebee saving the day on Wabash where I took this photo last August:

PANIC! returns April 30th

We’re back. Me and Pogo. No guests. Just us and you. And I want you to dance. I have a bunch of new music I haven’t gotten to play at PANIC! and I’ve been dying to rock some longer dance party sets. I love the flyer image too, of Derek Flint and a lovely lady. Here’s a trailer for Our Man Flint, a gem of my favorite movie genres – the 60′s spy film.

The Black Keys – Howlin’ For You

This isn’t the first time The Black Keys have been on this site and for a good reason. They make great videos. I’m loving the B-movie/grindhouse trailer for Howlin’ For You. The video stars Tricia Helfer and one of my favorites, Diora Baird along with Todd Bridges (making a comeback?) and Shaun White. I kind of really wish this was an actual movie, because I’m sure it would be amazing. That probably won’t happen, so this will have to do, and I’m okay with that.

Real Steel

Real Steel comes out 10.7.11 and I’m kind of excited about it. Not that I’m expecting this to be an amazing piece of cinematic filmmaking here but it’s real life Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots! Robots punching each other is one of life’s simple pleasures. File this one in the robot sci-fi awesome bin along with Robot Jox and Robo Cop. To quote Hugh Jackman, “BRING IT!!”

Dorian Gray

I saw last year’s british Dorian Gray movie tonight. It was better than I expected it to be and I’m very relieved. I do love my Wilde, ya know. Colin Firth is great as Lord Henry Wotton and Ben Barnes, who I wasn’t familiar with makes a good Dorian. The two also make a good pair as buddies in this movie. At times it was scary and kept the intensity and psychological drama high but still with the all the epic one-liners and charm of the book. The debauchery and excess that Dorian experienced was also nicely done, and looked like a lot of fun. The movie also looked good as a Victorian era London period piece. Here’s to hoping it gets a US theatrical release, but I hear it’s on Netflix. Recommended.
