How’s this for exciting: The new Iron Man 3 trailer premiered about an hour ago. This looks like it might be the best one so far, and I really liked Iron Man 2. Apparently it takes place after The Avengers movie, which was one of my favorites of last year. There’s a powerful new villain named Mandarin and there’s a lot of destruction and a quick shot of what looks like a giant robot Iron Man, as well as Gwenyth Paltrow in her underwear. Not bad. Iron Man 3 comes out on May 3rd.
Why am I posting a trailer for a movie that came out in 1993? Because of Sherilyn Fenn that’s why. And because according to IMDB, it’s about “A surgeon becomes obsessed with the seductive woman he once had an affair with. Refusing to accept that she has moved on, he amputates her limbs and holds her captive in his mansion.” Enough about the movie, let’s get back to this Sherilyn Fenn business. The Tiffani Thiessen post from yesterday, combined with a recent conversation at work about Boxing Helena got me thinking of other 90′s celebrity crushes I had. Sherilyn Fenn was one of them. She was of course in Twin Peaks and Fatal Instinct after all. Worth mentioning also is that Boxing Helena was directed by Jennifer Lynch, daughter of David Lynch who of course created Twin Peaks.
Next up in my list of 90′s celebrity crushes is the still beautiful Mädchen Amick, also from the still amazing Twin Peaks where she won me over as a teenager. She sealed the deal however with the film Dream Lover, costarring James Spader and Larry Miller.
Damn. This trailer. Not to get too analytical of the movies here but both feature main characters that were bat shit crazy, and both leading ladies have ties to David Lynch, who has always cast beautiful girls in his work. To be fair with the Sherilyn Fenn photo, I couldn’t end the post without this photo of Mädchen Amick that is still hot as hell.
I can’t stop watching this trailer for Pacific Rim. It’s due out July of 2013 and it’s directed by Guillermo del Toro. The story is that giant monsters come to Earth through a hole in the Pacific Ocean and humans build their own giant monsters to fight them and save humanity. Of course the giant monsters that the humans build are giant fucking robots. The first 2 movies that come to mind are Cloverfield and Robot Jox, which I quite enjoyed very much. Of course there’s always the Godzilla reference that can’t be denied either. The bottom line here people is that there will be giant robots fighting with giant monsters who tear up the Golden Gate Bridge, and I can’t wait to see it.
I’m really excited to see “Consuming Spirits”. I remember when this movie was in the early stages of production when I was a student of Chris Sullivan’s at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This was between 1994-1998. I’m proud of Chris for finishing his film after 15 years. This my friends, is art. Seeing how technology has changed in that time, and seeing something so beautifully animated by hand and filmed on 16mm film, it inspires me to no end. This is the kind of art that gives me hope.
Okay now I’m interested in Man of Steel. This new trailer looks really good, Christopher Nolan is attached, and it might even be a bit dark. It was also filmed in Chicago. All the above makes for what might be a damn good movie.
The new Iron Man 3 trailer is out and it’s awesome. It’s got some shots of the Iron Patriot, it looks like the Iron Man suit may have a mind of its own, and the Stark residence is attacked and crumbles into the ocean. Crazy. Can’t wait to see this movie!
Okay this is pretty exciting. I’d write more about it but I think I’m just going to watch it over and over in 1080p full screen. Bye.
I never thought I’d say this about a Total Recall remake (I also never thought there’d be a Total Recall remake) but this trailer doesn’t look bad. Visually it looks really great. I love me some flying cars, the white robotic looking soldiers look badass and kind of like Stormtroopers, and the always beautiful Kate Beckinsale is a plus. Of course it will never match the greatness of 1990′s Total Recall but then again, nothing can.
I love this. It’s the audio from the trailer of The Dark Knight Rises with visuals synced from The Lion King. Nice way to start the work day and the new year on a slow and snowy, cold day at work.
