I’m playing with my friend Joe’s new Oasis tribute band next Sunday April 1st. Some people reading this might know Joe from The Handsome Devilz Smiths/Morrissey tribute who’s quite popular around Chicago. This should be fun.

After like three months of putting together our Halloween party at PANIC! here are the videos from the night. All the bands just killed it. I was beyond happy it all worked out and smiling ear to ear the whole time inside my Jawa costume. Of course I remembered to shoot video just before leaving the house and didn’t realize I only had 20 minutes left of battery juice on my camera, but I was at least able to squeeze out one video for each band. Photos from the night coming soon.
PANIC! Halloween Party!
There you have it. Poster by Joe Padilla. I’m wearing fucking Jawa costume for this. I can’t wait to hear songs by three of my favourite bands.
Good times for a change. Here’s a video I shot at our Halloween party at PANIC! last Saturday. It’s The Handsome Devilz performing “William, It Was Really Nothing” by The Smiths. Check it out on the youtube page in 1080p and stay tuned for a video of London Calling.
PANIC! Halloween photos!
Here’s a few of the photos from PANIC! on Saturday. The Handsome Devilz and London Calling were awesome and had people dancing. Everyone, including me had a blast. I can’t wait till next month. Check out the rest of the photos on the PANIC! Flickr page.

This weekend in photos
This weekend’s fun was well documented by my mobile phone and Diana camera. Here’s what happened:
The Handsome Devilz played at Navy Pier. They played 2 sets but because of work, we were only able to see the 2nd set. A great show as always and in a great setting. I need to get over to Navy Pier again this summer.

I shot a bunch of other photos at Navy Pier also. Check the flickr page to see the rest of them.
We then walked over to the loop and saw the Tony Tasset “Eye” and laughed at these guys who were smoking pot and heckling the Lollapalooza crowd as they walked by. I walked back to the Chicago brown line stop and finished my roll of film at the Cadillac Palace Theater.

On Saturday we saw The Cribs at The Cubby Bear. Warpaint opened and killed it. A special treat was to see Johnny Marr so close and so great with The Cribs. I’m definitely going to listen to more of these bands.

Thursday was our last night of The Queen is Dead residency at the Abbey Pub. I took these photos with my Canon SureShot 35mm. Check out the rest on flickr.

It was an awesome year at the Abbey with The Handsome Devilz, Mike Mischen, our guest DJ’s and bands. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings us!
Two gigs this week
Thursday is our last gig of The Queen is Dead residency at Abbey Pub with The Handsome Devilz. Our guest DJ is Tony Christopher, who’s best known for his Smiths/Morrissey DJ nights at Delilah’s. I’m glad to finally play with Tony and it’s going to be an awesome night.

Then on Saturday is a big summer blow out for PANIC! I’m excited since I was in LA for the last one and it’s our first BBQ. Also, we have Dom Kreep guest DJ’ing with us from the band Kreeps. I first met Dom writing this for the now defunct Bangers & Mash blog. It was great meeting him in person a couple of weeks ago and we’re all really excited for a great PANIC!.

Next gig: June 19th
I’ve been collaborating a lot lately with Swoon Method. There’s a music video I’m half way done with for “Pink Lady Snow Doll”, the “You Are the Component” music video from last year, and song writing. I’m also always involved with The Handsome Devilz and Chicago’s best drummer Tony Macias, so this should be a good night of music and friends.
