Hi I’m Arturo Valle and I started Panic Films in February of 2000. Under this name I’ve made music videos, party videos, and have done live visuals with bands and DJ’s. This site is here to share what inspires and excites me, and for stuff I just think is pretty damn cool. It’s also a place for posting my new videos, events, photography and art.

I started doing visuals in the early 2000′s with the trip hop band Jute and electronica band A New January. I’ve toured the country with shoegaze band Airiel. I kept a blog about our travels entitled Pinecone4 which can be found here. I’ve been with Dark Wave Disco since Spring of 2005 doing visuals at Sonotheque and documenting the events on video.

As Panic Films I’ve done visuals with Shiny Toy Guns, Tommie Sunshine, Kill Hannah, Carlos D (formerly of Interpol), Junior Sanchez, A-Trak, and at The Quest nightclub in Minneapolis. Two of my most memorable gigs were at darkroom as opening VJ for DJ Spooky and Blueshift 2004 (also my first camping experience). Other Chicago venues I’ve performed at include Metro, Crobar, The Vic Theater, Rodan, Schubas, and The Empty Bottle.

As a DJ I’ve played the PANIC! monthly party with Pogo starting at Smartbar, and now at darkroom since 2004. I’ve also had residencies at The Continental, Abbey Pub “The Queen is Dead” residency with Morrissey/The Smiths tribute band The Handsome Devilz, Five Star “Loaded Wednesdays”, and Innjoy. I’ve also DJ’d at Sonotheque, Green Dolphin Street, Neo, Metro, after party for Primal Scream, Cafe Lura, and private parties around Chicago.

By day (and sometimes nights and weekends) I’m a videographer/video editor for Playboy. I love my job.
