The Lenny & Rocko Holiday Special

I have awesome and talented friends. My friend Keith made this Holiday special starring his 2 new characters Lenny and Rocko. I helped on post production audio and he was gracious enough to credit me in the video. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
I hope everybody reading this has an amazing 2012. I’m excited for 2012 and growing the web site and you should expect a lot of exclusive posts and premiers on Panic Films in the new year.

p.s.
If you’re in Chicago and want a great party, I’ll be DJ’ing PANIC! NYE at darkroom with Pogo, Trancid, and Kamar. Cover is $15 and will definitely be a good time.

Galloping Ghost Arcade

I paid a visit to Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield the other day and took these photos with Vignette on my phone while playing some fun games.

This Tron photo is my favorite because it started as a double exposure then something happened in the upload from the flickr app on my phone that the bottom of the image got all messed up, but I love it.

Panic Films Favorite Music of 2011

Here’s a list (in alphabetical order) of my favorite music of 2011:

Chapel Club – Palace – I discovered this band from London through Suede’s twitter. Turns out Chapel Club was opening for Suede so I looked up who this band was and I loved what I heard on Youtube, and then the CD was played non-stop at work, in the car, iPod, and at home. There’s hints of The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, and the recent bands they’ve inspired but still Chapel Club does their own thing that I really appreciate.

Left 4 Dead fan film

Sci-fi blog io9 recently turned me on to this amazing Left 4 Dead fan film that as they say goes crazy in the last act. This has some of the best cameos I’ve seen in a long time. I love making-of’s so here’s a really interesting and inspiring making-of video that shows just what can happen with some talented people working together with a low budget with no profit.

Housewives Playhouse with Simon de Pury

One of my favorite things about Bravo’s Work of Art show is Simon de Pury. He’s always so encouraging to the artists and his accent is just awesome. You have to giggle when he would say “Hello Sucklord!” to toy artist/Star Wars freak Sucklord. I’d love to have an alarm clock of him yelling “Be bold! Be inspired! Be amazing today!”

Hang On St. Christopher

Darkroom held a Tom Waits night a couple of weeks ago in honor of Waits’ birthday and asked me to shoot video. Here is Michael Dean’s Wild Years performing “Hang On St. Christopher”.

New Suede Song: I Don’t Know Why

Looks like Suede has a new song that was performed at a show in Saint Petersburg Russia called “I Don’t Know Why”. It’s definitely not the first album era Suede but that can never be repeated, this comes after “Coming Up” and it’s okay by me. I can’t wait to hear more new music from them.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

There’s a lot going on in this trailer. First, it seems that Bane really doesn’t like football. Also, we see Selina Kyle but no Catwoman. The flying Batwing or whatever that is chasing a camouflage Batmobile looks badass. There’s also not much of Batman in this. Good stuff. I can’t wait till the movie gets released on July 20th.

Donuts by Emily Eveleth

Today’s art blogging brings us these amazing large paintings of donuts lit dramatically. What’s not to like? I like how they go from being sad, like this one that looks like it’s dying

or this one that looks sort of sexual, abstract, and meaty. Most of all, I like the formal tone and seriousness of these paintings. They’re characters and have personality. The compositions and size of the actual painting makes for a lot of it. They wouldn’t be quite as good or have the same impact if they were 2×3 feet pieces.

Great stuff. To see more, check out Emily Eveleth’s site here.
