I’m loving how Mike Skinner is doing The Streets completely DIY. Shooting video on a 5D, putting out the tunes on youtube, free mixtapes, and having total creative control. This song doesn’t disappoint and I think we’ve all been there at least once. Mike’s lyrics are always spot on. I think the new album “Computers and Blues” is going to be fucking epic. I can’t wait.

With 3 DJ gigs in a row this past week (Three Aces, PANIC!, Benefit for Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua) and 2 music video shoots, and my winning battle against an amazing breaded steak sandwich in Bridgeport I just haven’t had much time for blogging. That trend changes now.

Tyler Shields
Supposedly there’s a guy named Alex Pettyfur in this video by Tyler Shields but all I see is Lydia Hearst and Leven Rambin. The Black Angels are in the soundtrack, which makes me very happy. Enjoy!
Forgotten Hopes
My new favorite web site is the french art/design blog Forgotten Hopes. They seem to focus on vintage collage, design and photography with some great videos thrown in for good measure. My French is very bad but I can understand enough of the text to get by and well, you can speak any language and understand the art. Recommended.
This is a sample of the artists featured on Forgotten Hopes.

Evangelion 2.22

We got some good and bad news today here at Panic Films HQ about one of our most awaited animes, Evangelion 2.22. First the bad news (along with a mini review) from io9: the film is getting a limited US theatrical release but only in select cities, and Chicago is not one of them. Good news for some, not so much for me. Now the good news, brought to us by the fine folks at Prymal.net is that Funimation has March 29th as the release date for the DVD/Bluray. Info and preorder can be had here.
Happy Thursday

Found this on FFFFOUND!. I know I feel that way sometimes. Don’t you?
Real Steel
Real Steel comes out 10.7.11 and I’m kind of excited about it. Not that I’m expecting this to be an amazing piece of cinematic filmmaking here but it’s real life Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots! Robots punching each other is one of life’s simple pleasures. File this one in the robot sci-fi awesome bin along with Robot Jox and Robo Cop. To quote Hugh Jackman, “BRING IT!!”
I checked out Cultriot last night and found this 40 minute video about one of my favorite movies of last year, Exit Through The Gift Shop. It’s a pretty interesting piece about a pretty interesting movie.
PANIC! New Years Eve
Here’s a video of our New Years Eve party at darkroom. Long story short, I’m so happy the balloon drop worked, people had a blast, and our 3 guest DJ’s all were amazing. It’s going to be a good year at PANIC! and I can’t wait for the next one on the 29th of this month.

Swoon Method – Tiger Tom
I’m excited to post this video for “Tiger Tom” today. It’s the first in my Chinatown Trilogy for Swoon Method. I started this trilogy about a year ago by accident, just by hanging out in Chinatown with Keith from the band and my camera. Since then, there were more trips to Chinatown, more dim sum, more adventures, and I even wrote my first song. One video led to another, which led to this idea for a trilogy. Stay tuned for more updates but for now, here’s “Tiger Tom”.
