Dorian Gray

I saw last year’s british Dorian Gray movie tonight. It was better than I expected it to be and I’m very relieved. I do love my Wilde, ya know. Colin Firth is great as Lord Henry Wotton and Ben Barnes, who I wasn’t familiar with makes a good Dorian. The two also make a good pair as buddies in this movie. At times it was scary and kept the intensity and psychological drama high but still with the all the epic one-liners and charm of the book. The debauchery and excess that Dorian experienced was also nicely done, and looked like a lot of fun. The movie also looked good as a Victorian era London period piece. Here’s to hoping it gets a US theatrical release, but I hear it’s on Netflix. Recommended.

Tron Week Day 2: 7 Awesome Facts About Tron Legacy

They posted this great list of 7 awesome facts about Tron Legacy over on io9. This might have been the coolest movie to work on: practical sets, Olivia Wilde, Daft Punk playing a mini rave on set at 4am, and a character inspired by David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust. Read more about it, and spoilers, here.

Check out these photos of my new indie rock crush, Alexis Krauss from Sleigh Bells on Ink Butter. She and her band have definitely been a musical highlight of mine in 2010.
